Doris Scott Scribner, 86 a life long local resident passed away on Saturday July 12, 2014 at the Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center in Highland, NY., with her family by her side. Mrs. Scribner worked many years at the telephone Co. in Poughkeepsie then later retired from the Rocket store where she worked in Vassar Bros. Hospital in charge of the television set-up service. She was kindly know as the TV lady. Later on she volunteered at St. Francis Hospital in the gift shop for many years. Born on January 30, 1928 in Poughkeepsie, NY she was the daughter of Otto and Oneita Briggs Scott. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School. On July 25, 1948 at nativity church in Poughkeepsie she married John Scribner whom predeceased her in 1974. She was predeceased by her brother Edgar Scott. Survivors include her son John Scribner of Poughkeepsie; a daughter Sandra Scribner Caccoma and her husband Frank of Hyde Park, NY; six grandchildren; Michael Scribner of In; Marc Scribner of LA; Siobhan Scribner of Poughkeepsie; Ariann Scribner of CT; Angelo Caccoma of Hyde Park, NY and Josephine Caccoma of Hyde Park, NY. 5 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be at Union Cemetery in Hyde Park on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at 11am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Vassar Brothers Medical Center Dyson Cancer Center restricted to Medical Care. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J.
