On February 20, 2024, at Northern Dutchess Hospital, Doris Jean Traver, 97 went to Heaven to reunite with the love of her life. She was born on November 8, 1926, at home on Canoe Hill Road in the Town of Washington to the late Charles W Chase and Mary C. (Green) Chase. She was the youngest of 11 Children. Doris grew up in the Town of Clinton on a farm. She attended a one room schoolhouse (Spooky Hollow) and attended high School at F.D. Roosevelt
On April 6, 1946, she married the love of her life at St. Paul’s Wurtenburg Church to David B. Traver who predeceased her on January 6, 1981. She loved her family time especially Sunday Dinners and Holidays. Doris loved to cook and bake and could make something out of nothing.
Survivors include her 4 children: David B. (Shirley) Traver, Jr; Mary J. (Louis) Zwecker; Elizabeth A. (Jonathan) and Doris R. Mizzio. She was grandmother to 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great granddaughters and one more great-great granddaughter due in June; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, techs and hospice comfort care for taking wonderful care of our wonderful loving mother while at Northern Dutchess Hospital. There will be church services at 1pm on Monday February 26, 2024, at the Pleasant Plains Presbyterian Church, 2 Fiddlers Bridge Road Staatsburg, NY 12580 with burial to follow at the Schutzville Cemetery 1192 Centre Road Rhinebeck NY, (Town of Clinton) Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J.
