Regina M. Watts

Our truly loved Regina Marie Watts entered eternal rest at the age of 73 on the early morning of Tuesday February 6, 2024 peacefully at home in Poughkeepsie NY. Regina Marie was born on November 22,1950 to the late Horace Hinton and Anna Mae Twyman-Johnson in Poughkeepsie NY. Regina married Tyrone Watts in Baltimore, Maryland in 1971 who predeceased her in 2016.. She worked at Hudson River Psychiatric Center and Letchworth until she retired in 1989. Regina could make anything out of nothing. She was an avid seamstress who also loved to crochet and do arts and crafts. Regina enjoyed shopping, cooking different meals, and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Regina opened her heart and home to many children as a  Foster Mother for fifteen years. Regina proved herself to be a true fighter. Only given months to live by physicians, Regina battled and fought cancer for three years. Regina was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.  Left to Cherish her memories are daughter Tylise Watts of Poughkeepsie, three grandchildren Zakiya, Eric Jr, and  Za’rae; one Great granddaughter Za’riah all of Poughkeepsie NY. Four Sisters Carol Hinton of Newburgh, NY, Connie Turner of Poughkeepsie, NY;  Ellen (Kevin) Miller of Poughkeepsie, Doreen (Anthony) Bunn of Poughkeepsie. One Brother Ira Hinton of Ohio. Mother in-law Arlene Gray Sister in-laws Sandra, Ondina and Wanda Hinton. Two God children Shamik, and Aleria.  Special Friends Shirley Trent, Ethel Wilson, and Deborah Melvin.Host of nieces, Nephews, cousin, aunts, uncles, and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by, 6 brothers Glenn, Brion, Horace E, Steven, Terry, Horace M Hinton. One Sister Karen Hinton.  In the words of Regina “So Long Never Good Bye” 

  Visitation will be held on Friday February 16, 2024 from 10am to 11am at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc 39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. (845)4521840.  Celebration of Life will begin at 11am with burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
