Terrol "john" Lewin

Terrol “John” Lewin, 72 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on December 20, 2023, at the Renaissance Rehab and Nursing Care Center in Staatsburg, NY.  Born on August 17, 1951, in Jamacia he was the son of Joseph Samuel and Gurley Lewin.  John was a farmer and landscaper for the Old Corn Crib in Poughkeepsie until his retirement.  He was a socializer who enjoyed spending his time at Smith Street Hot Dogs and Fresh Market, enjoyed his Jamaican Rum, cowboy movies and walking around the city talking to everyone he encountered.

  John leaves to cherish his memories his sister Evelyn of Florida, Best Friend Helena Beatty his “RIDE TO DIE”(Jabbar Dugger), Crystale Thompson and her children Michael and Alysia “Little Rat”, Francine Marshall (Michael Bishop) and her son’s Sincere “pops”, and Knoledge “Blackman”, lifelong friend William and his caretaker Niqua Rankin.    

  Per Johns wishes cremation has taken place, there will be a memorial service held on Sunday January 28, 2023, from 1pm to 2pm at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So. Hamilton Street Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
