Obituary

Ann Neuner Moran, the beloved mother of James and Julie Moran, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023.

Ann was born in the township of Bayreuth, Germany, on September 30, 1941, to the late Juliane and Heinrich Neuner.  She was the youngest of their ten children.  On February 12, 1961, she emigrated to the United States and eventually settled in Poughkeepsie, NY. Later Ann would establish a career as a computer programmer at IBM.

Upon retirement, Ann and Gary Schroeder, settled in southern Germany for five years. Ann and Gary travelled extensively throughout Europe. When Ann returned to the US, she split her time between Dutchess County, NY, and Palm Coast, Florida.

Besides her devoted son, James (Mary), and daughter, Julie (Yosry), she is survived by her grandchildren, Brendan Ahmed and Brooke Zaytune; her sisters, Anita Heidenreich and Gerlinde (Gunther) Scarabella of Germany; her godson, John (Karyn) L'Heaureax, her nephews Bill (Sally) Tolstick and Paul (Shannon) Neuner and many nieces and nephews in Germany.

Ann is predeceased by her husband, James P. Moran, and the love of her life Gary Schroeder; her five brothers: Johann, Andreas, Fredrich, Konrad (Sylvia), and Josef Neuner; her sisters, Maria (Hans) Krauss and Katharina Neuner; and her brother-in-law, Georg Heidenreich.

Ann will always be remembered for the fun, loving times she gave to those around her as her wit was sharp and quick. Ann had an appreciation for cooking, art, travel, and a boundless love for all animals.
