Anthony "Tony" Lawrence, 58, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away at NY Presbyterian Hospital on May 4, 2016. He was born April 16, 1959 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Vernell McClinton and Mary Whitaker. He graduated Poughkeepsie High School and attended Dutchess Community College, then went on to be the Assistant Manager of KFC in Fishkill, NY.

He was of the Christian Faith. He enjoyed spending time with children, whether his own or others. He became very knowledgeable from all of the reading he accomplished over the years.

Anthony is survived by his daughter; Akisha Walton of Hampton, VA, 2 grandchildren, siblings; Wally Bomati, Victor Nelson, Denise Lawrence, Vernice McClinton, all of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Yvette (Christopher) Williams, of Fl, as well as uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

He is pre-deceased by his father; Vernell McClinton, 2 brothers; Vernell "Fuzzy" and David McClinton, and a sister; Urania Nelson.

Visitation will be held on May 11, 2016, Wednesday, from 10-11am at Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catherine St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Funeral service begins at 11am with Pastor Elizabeth Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J.
