With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Roberts, Woods, and Jones families announce the home-going of their beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Mr. Athanasius A Roberts Sr. This sad event occurred on Tuesday October 5, 2021, at the Vassar Brother Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York, after a brief illness. AA was predeceased by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Anthony Roberts Sr, four brothers, and three sisters. He was also predeceased by two children Mickey Roberts, and Augustine Roberts.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His beloved wife of 56 years Mrs. Rosetta O. Roberts, Daughters: Regina Roberts Anderson, Sheila Mitchell, and Antonia Roberts. Sons: Athanasius A. Roberts Jr "AA", Melvin Macualey (Elvera), Ambrose A. Roberts (Hawah) Anthony Roberts, Josephus Roberts, and his Adopted Son Lanre Moore. He also leaves to mourn his loss, several nieces, and nephews, grand and great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

AA Sr. aka AA99 left labor for eternity with lots of love and cherished memories of families and friends. He was an offspring from a great family line that extends from the beautiful shores of Sierra Leone to Liberia to the United States, and Great Britain. His legacy will continue and grace the family forever. May his soul rest in perpetual peace.

Visitation is Friday November 5, 2021, 6-9pm at Bethel Church of God in Christ 91 Hooker Ave Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Please note, there will be no tributes done at the funeral. All tributes will be done at wake.
