Betty Gibson, 77 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on September 20, 2023, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.  She was born on April 6, 1946, in Fort Lauderdale Florida.  She retired from Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where she was a Nurses Aide.  In Poughkeepsie, NY she married the love of her life Leonard Lawrence Sr who survives at home.  Betty enjoyed taking casino trips with her husband, cooking, and fishing.  She was a member of the Church of Christ on Vassar Road.  Besides her husband she is survived by her son Willie Smith Jr. and best friend Carolyn Petterson.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 26, from 10am to 11am at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc. 39 So. Hamilton Street Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. (845)452-1840.  A homegoing celebration will take place at 11am with members of the Church of Christ Officiating.
