Our dear sister Beverly Ann MacPhedran Podwall of Vassar Warner Home in Poughkeepsie, died peacefully on the 20th of November. She was 78 years old.

Bev will be best remembered for her perpetual smile, her love of pink flamingos, and anything Disney.  She was notorious for her mile-long  stubborn streak and wicked sense of fun and good humor.  Despite being in her most recent care home for only a month, the Home's Director said everyone loved her and she even made the grumpy people smile! Her earlier years were enjoyed in her 1955 Chevy with her "ahooga" horn, and eating at the "Hubba Hubba" where she got her nickname. She is fondly remembered as a pro at card games and was never beaten at rummy!

Bev was born on the 14th of May 1946 at United Hospital in Port Chester New York. Bev attended school initially in Port Chester then in Greenwich CT when the family moved to Byram in 1955. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1964.   Bev worked for many years at the Greenwich Hospital as a Switchboard Operator before  moving to Lake Carmel NY in the late 1970s. She married Irving Paul Podwall in1985.

Bev is predeceased by her parents John and Betty, her brother Edward MacPhedran, and her husband Irving P. Podwall.  She is survived by her sister Laura MacPhedran Bono (Buzz) of Beacon NY, sister Wendy MacPhedran (John) of Northern Ireland, nieces Jessica DeLoe and Pamela Paquin, nephews Jacob Paquin (Dodi) and Casey DeLoe (Shannon), her beloved Aunt Barbara Richardson, and many loved cousins.

Her family will lay Bev to rest alongside her husband Paul at the First Congregational Church in a private ceremony. Condolences can be sent to Laura Bono, 10 Stratford Ave., Beacon NY 12508.
