Obituary

The Latterys, regretfully announce the passing of their beloved, Carlton Winston Lattery, 81. Born to Benjamin Lattery & Anita Linton on January 21, 1944 in Kingston, Jamaica. Growing up in Jamaica was hard. Carlton for go higher education for work experience. He learned how to repair and make shoes, working with a cobbler. He also learned the fine art of tailoring. But, what he excelled at most was driving and repairing motor vehicles. Carlton taught himself how to drive standard shift, in doing so earned a position at Uni Motos, where he learned how to fix cars and trucks. On October 25th, 1969 in Kingston, Jamaica he married Marlene M. Smith an inspiring seamstress. Together for 54 years, they built a life and small family. First, Sandra-Dee then Rohan, two years later. Carlton, later immigrated to the U.S. in 1970. Where he lived in the Bronx and worked in Long Island at Brunswick Hospital Center. The largest privately owned hospital in the U.S. at the time. Marlene, Sandra & Rohan would follow in December of '73. They worked hard and bought their current home in 1995, relocating to Poughkeepsie, NY. Carlton is survived by his children Sandra-Dee, Rohan. Grandchildren Saxon, Duncan, Ahlexsis-Kree, Solace-Simone and Shawn. Great grandchild, John-Issac. Siblings, Glenroy Lattery, Florence Lattery, Roy Lattery, Barry Lattery, Lorna Kerr and Pet Hendricks. Carlton was a very friendly, caring, generous and genuine person. He was known by many and loved by all. He leaves behind a long list of friends, co-workers and acquaintances. Mr. & Mrs. L. Ramkishore, Mr. & Mrs. J. Gatling, Mr. & Mrs. Christie, The Smiths, Millicent Coombs, Sylvan Mills, Morris Walker, Otis Lawrence, Smokey, Stretch, Dominic, Angus, Tom, Riges and Mikey.  Carlton will be mourned and missed by all who knew him, by all who loved him. His light will shine brightest in the memories shared by his loved ones. He will be forever loved, forever missed and never forgotten. May he be welcomed into God's kingdom with opened arms. A graveside service will be held at 11:45am on Friday February 7, 2025, at the White Plains Rural Cemetery, White Plains, NY.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J.
