Catherine M. "Cody" Gorman, 87 Poughkeepsie NY passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on April 14, 2016.  Catherine was born August 12, 1928 in Bronx. NY.  She was the daughter of the late Peter B Cody and Agnes Newcombe.  On December 30, 1950 she married the one and only "love of her life" John T Gorman, who predeceased her on September 4, 1965.

Catherine is pre deceased by her loving brothers; William Cody and Rev. Peter J. Cody.  She is survived by her children; John Gorman (Rita), Mary Falconi (John) and Peter Gorman (Margie-pre deceased).  She adored her 10 loving grandchildren; Brendan, Keara, Deirdre, Meghan, Jason, Jeanine, Falyn, Brian, Katie and Maureen. Also 12 cherished great-grandchildren; James, Mae, Sadie, Michael, Matthew, Ashleigh, Emilee, Cyhlee, Jase, Analyn, Kalem and Zoey.

Catherine relocated to Poughkeepsie, NY in the 70's and enjoyed being her brother's secretary while he was the pastor at St. Peters Church.  She then soon retired and enjoyed working at St. Peter's Cemetery alongside her daughter assisting the community with genealogy.

Catherine will always be remembered as a loving, generous, caring person and the matriarch of our family!

Visitation is Sunday, April 17, 2016, 4-8PM, at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc. 39 So Hamilton St. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. 845-452-1840. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 18, 2016, 10AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 185 Hudson View Dr. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 with Reverend Daniel O'Hare as principle celebrant. Burial is at a later date in St. Raymond's Cemetery Bronx, NY.
