Charlotte Elizabeth Moore passed on November 29 th at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was 10 days from her 94 th birthday. Born on December 9, 1924 she was the 6 th of 16 children to the late Julia Pinte and Everett Lee.
Charlotte graduated from Wappinger's High School in 1943 and was very proud that she graduated with honors in Home Economics. She worked and lived at the Alumnae House at Vassar College for 4 years. She met her husband of 68 yrs when he asked her to dance at the Polish Club in Poughkeepsie and the "rest is history". Charlotte loved being a mom and homemaker. Her three children and being part of a large family were what was most important. She could also always be counted on to laugh at Bill's jokes, no matter how many times she heard them. Charlotte's advice and a great way to live - "treat others as you would like to be treated". On November 26, 1950 Charlotte said she made the most important decision she ever made by marrying William F Moore Sr. The couple bought a house in Hyde Park in 1958 and lived there until 2013 when they moved to the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. Bill Survives at the Baptist Home.
She is also survived by her daughter Darleen Moyal and her husband Sonny of Tamarac, Fl.; son William Moore Jr and his wife Heather of Milan, NY; daughter in law Virginia Moore of Pleasant Valley, NY; one brother, William Lee; four sisters Ann Pahlack, Diana Kyle, Ellen Johnson and Sandra Lee, four granddaughters Nyovee, Kristin, Nicole and Elizabeth; 7 great grand children as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Garry Moore, her brothers Howard, Allison, Delbert and George and her sisters Vivian, Jean, Olive, June, Jane and Carolyn.
Calling hours will be 11am-1pm, Thursday December 6th, 2018 at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc. 39 S. Hamilton St, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 845-452-1840 with a funeral service beginning at 1pm. Burial to follow on St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society of your choice.
