Claudette Owens departed this life for eternal rest on Wednesday June 26, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Claudette was born in Boykins, VA on September 9, 1945, as the youngest child to the late James Owens and Clara (Beaton) Owens.  She was a 78-year-old resident of Poughkeepsie, NY.  Claudette attended Southampton High School.  She was employed by Chemical Rubber, which later became known as Chemprene, where she worked for 36 years, ultimately retiring in 2014.  She was also employed by Temple Beth-El of Poughkeepsie, NY where she developed long lasting friendships until retirement after nearly 20 years of working.  She was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was one of the Matrons of The Pearls of Wisdom Ministry.  Claudette had a passion for fishing since she was a child.  You could catch her on the fish bank as soon as spring came around.  She was also a huge fan of the New York Yankees and loved watching football, NFL.

Claudette is survived by her son Aaron (Jackie) Owens of Poughkeepsie, NY; her daughter Jocelyn Medley of Poughkeepsie, NY; her sister Mary Myrick of Newsoms, VA; her brother Robert Lee Owens (Paula) of Franklin, VA; special nephew Clinton (Carol) Bugg of Charleston, SC; special niece Lillie Owens of Murfreesboro, NC; her five grandchildren, Tyrael, Uraina, Erin, Maishawn, and Navonni; her great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents James and Clara Owens, and her 31 Siblings.
