Clinton Leroy Elting Jr., 66, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away March 31, 2016, at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, surrounded by his loved ones.

Clinton was born on October 30, 1948, in Poughkeepsie, NY, to the late Clinton Leroy Elting and Gloria Sprow. He was of the Christian faith and a drug counselor in Poughkeepsie for over 10 years counseling many people.

He is survived by his children; Anthony, Torano, Yakei, Pure, Sakrid, Aking, Turell, I-isreal, Glorious, Heavenly, Essence and Nessiah; 9 step children he held dearly to his heart; 40 grandchildren, brothers; Damon, Mark, Anthony, Troy and Jerome, sisters; Tarry, Cheryl, Shelly, Loretta and Lauren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by his sons; Clinton Leroy Elting III and Mahdi Elting, sister; Karen (Bird) Thomas and stepson; Aaron Stubbs.

Visitation will be held at Beth-EL Church of God in Christ, 91 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, Friday, April 8, 2016, 10-10:30am, with a funeral service beginning at 10:30am with Pastor Dwight Hunt officiating.  Interment to follow in Wappinger's Rural Cemetery.
