Cornelia Gill, 87, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on November 8, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 4, 1936, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Abbott and Flora Green. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. Cornelia was a homemaker, a member of the A.M.E Zion Church in Poughkeepsie, and enjoyed politics, music, and sports, especially baseball and basketball. She was a dedicated donor and advocate for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In April of 1954, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she married Lloyd Gill, who predeceased her. She is predeceased by her Husband, Lloyd Gill, Son, Christopher Gill. Mother Flora (Green) Abbott and Father Joseph Joseph Abbott, Sisters Christina Abbott, Gladys (Hannah) Abbott, Flora (Hancock) Abbott. Brothers Joseph Abbott II, Homer Abbott, and Andrew Abbott. Left to cherish her memory include her children, sons, Michael Gill, Tony Gill, David Cooper. Daughters: Lisa Gill-Dodds, Son-In-Law Michael Dodds, Jacqueline Gill, Son-in-law Lawrence Stone. Grandchildren: Alex Dodds, NaTazia Cooper, Daerrion Cooper, Christion Cooper, Aeddrion Cooper, Roman Cooper, Xavion Cooper, Heaven Cooper, Evan Cooper.
