Daniel Curtis Mizell Sr, a lifetime Poughkeepsie resident entered eternal rest on July 3, 2022, at Westchester County Medical Center. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and cousin. Daniel was born on July 6, 1957, to the late Daniel and Margaret Mizell. Daniel met and married Judith Wood on October 24, 1980. Daniel had a deep passion for weaponry, self defense and he loved life. Daniel was a Corrections Officer with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office for 25 years retiring in 2014.  Daniel loved to cook and especially bake after retirement and was at Adams Fair acre Farms almost daily.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Judith, a daughter, Monique, sons, Ian and Daniel Jr., his 108-year-old grandmother Bessie Riley, beloved sister Elaine, one uncle William Riley, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, 1 son-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. He was fondly known as "Uncle Porky or Porkchop" to his family. Daniel will miss his furry Bootsie.

Visitation is Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 9-11AM with a celebration of life to follow 11AM at St Paul's Episcopal Church 161 Mansion St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
