I am heartbroken to announce the death of our mother, Darlene DeNike. She passed away suddenly in a tragic accident at the age of 49. Darlene was born in Poughkeepsie NY on March 19, 1974.  She is predeceased by her mother Doris DeNike, and her father Robert DeNike. She was a part of a very diverse family with many extended family members through her children.  Later in life, Darlene moved to Scranton PA to better herself and family where she graduated school with her Medical Assistant certification. She took pride in working hard and being able to provide for her family and friends. She had a passion for bowling, and she loved horses. Darlene was an example of tough love and always displaying a big heart.  She was and still is loved tremendously. She leaves behind her siblings, her 4 children, Hezekiah Douglas, Deziah Douglas, Philip DeNike, and Shaquille DeNike along with 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Our mother will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. We would love you to come and honor her life at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So.
