IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darren D
Braxton Sr
September 16, 1961 – August 31, 2022
Darren David Braxton Sr., 60, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and loyal family member and friend was called home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2022. He was born on September 16, 1961 in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Swanson and Joyce Hannah- Braxton. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School's Class of 1979 where he played football, baseball, and basketball. After studying at Dutchess Community College, he went on to begin his career at IBM. Darren retired from IBM in 2004, returned to IBM through Manpower for several years before rejoining IBM as a full-time employee. Darren was a hard worker who loved his career with IBM. He loved outdoor sports – especially fishing with his best friend/brother Edward West and swimming with his oldest grandson Desean. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Darren was very loving, kind, had the biggest heart, and would do anything to help someone. He loved life and often said, "If I die today, I had a ball." Darren leaves to cherish his memory his loving childhood sweetheart and devoted wife Linda Braxton, two sons: Darren Braxton Jr. (Gina) and Derrick Braxton, one daughter, Daiasia Braxton, four grandchildren: Desean, Davina, Deja, and Dreux, a special daughter-in-love Iasian, and two special cousins: Karen Graham and Judy Mizell. He also leaves a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a plethora of co-workers and friends. Darren was predeceased by his father, Swanson Braxton in 2015, mother Joyce Braxton in 2021, and brother Keith Hannah in 2017. Darren was also predeceased by his dog Sampson in 2019. Sampson would be waiting for Darren to return home from work and when he arrived home, Darren would say, "There's my buddy."
"Rest now, my sweet. You are and will be missed." Linda
