Dennis Mosley, a cherished member of the Faulcon, Mosley and Medley families passed away peacefully at home in loving care on Monday morning, August 26, 2024, at the age of 89, after a strong battle with health issues. He was a native of Halifax County, NC. In 1935, on Saturday, April 13th, Dennis Harson Mosley's life began. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Green Thomas Mosley (Catherine Ada Faulcon) and raised in the small rural community of Huckleberry Bottom, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. In 1941, the family relocated to New York. Dennis spent his childhood and teen years in Kingston on 89 Broadway and in Poughkeepsie on Tulip and Smith Streets. His journey spanned many miles and touched many lives. In November 1956, Dennis H. Mosley married Essie G. Jackson, and he spent most of his adult life in Kingston, New York. In his last years, he resettled in Poughkeepsie, where he became a friendly member of the community at Interfaith Towers Apartments. Over the course of his life, he worked a variety of jobs, including as a taxi driver, in dry cleaning as an excellent presser, as a bartender, and long tenures at Shaltz, and Ulster Uniforms. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting, watching sports, auto repairs, and handyman work. Those remaining to cherish his life and precious memories are Brothers: Luther "Leon" Faulcon (Flora), Thomas "Bill" Mosley. Children: Robert Medley (Sue), Dennis Mosley, Jr., (Lisa), Cathryn Timbrouck (Russell), Chanses Mosley, Stepdaughter, DeVeda Worthington, and Cassondra "Pebbles" Mosley, a very special loving niece-daughter, Stepson, Maurice "Blaine" Hayes (Lichele). He was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by Brother-in-law James "Dolly" Medley (Kaye), and daughter-in-law(s), Karen Mosley, Rita Worthington. Those continuing to keep him in their hearts and minds is a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 3, 2024, from 10am to 11am with a celebration of life beginning at 11am at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So. Hamilton St. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. (845)452-1840. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
