IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolores Elizabeth
"Ducky" Walters
July 24, 1952 – July 5, 2024
On July 5,2024 Dolores was reunited with her loved ones who have passed. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she made her journey to paradise. Born to Doris and Morgan Babcock on July 24,1952 in her hometown of Poughkeepsie, Ny. Dolores had a happy childhood; she was born into a large family with three sisters and two brothers. Mary Culver, Francis Babcock, Gertrude Darrow, Morgan Babcock and Howard Babcock. Living in Poughkeepsie Dolores talked fondly of watching the trains and boats sailing by. Watching the soldiers and sailors come off the docks on Water Street. Enjoying Poughkeepsie's old time Main Street with its shops and eateries, referring to them as the "Good ol' days". Dolores lived on East Dorsey Lane in Poughkeepsie on the farm with her family. There they created many special bonds and memories. Sock hops and social gathering in her youth would lead her to a blind date. She married the love of her life Larry Dennis Barton. Where the nick name "Ducky" was affectionately given. Dolores and Larry spent their time living life through their adventures. Passionately together boating, hunting and fishing. Exploring the Adirondacks mountains. Sacandaga, Big Indian and Connecticut's Mystic. Together they had one daughter Charlene Elizabeth Teater and two gained sons Lawrence Babcock and Jonathon Babcock. She was blessed with a kind son in Law Patrick Teater. Dolores's love and care she gave them is everlasting. The Laughter was endless. Truly they all shared a special love and friendship through sickness and in health. Dolores found her calling with helping those with disabilities. As a Supervisor for Abilities First for 25 years. She created lifelong friendships. Motivating and supporting those who needed assistance. Her contagious smile and upbeat can-do personality made an impression on all who knew her. Dolores spent her later years enjoying her grandchild, Westlyn Teater. Spending her time traveling, revisiting the Adirondacks creating new adventures with her granddaughter, family and friends. Nothing could stop her from being on the soccer field watching her play and the various events. Through the up and downs, Her light and her laughter shines. She now watches over them all. Deeply loved and will be forever missed.
