Donald Sherwin DeRello Sr, 78 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Saturday November 22, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.  Born on November 6, 1936 in Poughkeepsie, NY he was the son to the late Leroy DeRello and Elizabeth Hazel Reid DeRello.  Donald was educated in both the Poughkeepsie and Pawling School Districts.  Donald was employed as a Mental Hygiene Therapy Aide at the Wassaic Developmental Center, retiring in 1997.  He enjoyed bowling, Pool, gardening, fishing, cooking and especially loved his dogs.  Donald loved and cherished his family dearly; and was will to help whenever he was able. Survivors include his children Douglas Williams-Tucker of North Carolina; Sondrea (Kim) Williams-Cuvilje of North Carolina; Donald S. DeRello Jr of Poughkeepsie; Etheleen DeRello-Patterson(Gerald) of Poughkeepsie; Tara DeRello of Florida, his siblings Wandalea Pearson of Monticello NY; Wyoming(Pearlene) DeRello of Melbane, North Carolina; Galvin (Sandra) DeRello of Virgina Beach, VA;  Mildred Ellis of Monticello, NY; Hyatt DeRello of Tampa, FL; Robin DeRello of Bronx, NY; Donna (Curtis) Silver of MelBane, North Carolina; his aunt Blanche Palmer of Greenville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-children, great grand-children, cousins and friends.  Donald was predeceased by his siblings Leroy H. DeRello Jr, Leonard DeRello, Douglas DeRello Sr., Elizabeth Mallory, Mary Reese, Pearl Cobbs and Shirley DeRello. Visitation will be held on Friday November 28, 2014 from 11am to 12pm at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
