Dorothy L. McGlohone, 86, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on March 23, 2020 at The Grand at River Valley Care Center. She was born on July 10, 1933 to the late James Cherry Sr. and Henrietta Ivery Barnes Cherry. Dorothy graduated high school in Winter Garden, FL outside Orlando. She married Willie McGlohone on December 31, 1967 for 53 years until his passing on January 15, 2016.

Dorothy was a therapy aide at the HRPC in Poughkeepsie for 34 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member and usher board of the Second Baptist Church. She was the matriarch of our family, loved helping others and her children.

Survivors include her children; Terry Lamar Cherry (Nick), Roual White (Ronnie), Gwendolyn White Riddick, Renee Johnson, Le'Shawn Johnson, many grandchildren, and a sibling; James Cherry Jr. She was predeceased by an eldest sibling; Ola Mae Cherry and her eldest daughter; Terralyn Brown.
