Dorothy A. Rettberg, 98, from Salt Point, NY passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at home with her loving granddaughter by her side. Born on June 30, 1927, in Fishkill, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward VanVlack and Jennie Denny. She was a caring person who took care of everyone around her. Dorothy loved the beach, traveling and flowers. She stayed strong in her faith as one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and will be greatly missed but never forgotten and we will see you again! She is survived by her grandchildren; Chassidy Rotella, Billie Joe Bennett, William P. Bennett, Tonya Bennett, Krina Bennett, Daniel Bennettand Amanda Bennett along with 3 great grandchildren and stepdaughter JoAnn Rettberg. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband William Bennett; her children Daniel Bennett, William Bennett and Sue Ann Rotella. Per Dorothy’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Friday February 27, 2026 at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 30 Manchester Circle, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
