Mrs. Edvenia Veronica Brown, 84, of Poughkeepsie, NY left this world on February 23, 2018 comforted by her family in the end.  She was born in Asheville, NC where she attended St. Anthonys Catholic School and Stephens Lee High School. She then moved to Poughkeepsie and graduated from Dutchess Community College. She was employed by Hudson River State Hospital as a therapy aide and later as a Registered Nurse. After 40 years of service, she retired to continue working at home. She loved art, cooking, caring for others, but most of all she loved the Lord.

She is predeceased by her husband Johnnie Brown and her son John David Brown.

She is survived by her children; Ruth Michelle, Ulysses Patrik and Martin Brown, grandchildren; Martina Brown-Peace, Trena Brown-Peace, Martha Charles, Benjamin, Layla and Shaquille Williams, sisters; Naomi Harris of San Diego, CA and Jane Jackson of HI.

Calling hour will be Monday, March 5, 2018 at Bethel Church of God in Christ, 91 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, from 11-12pm, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12pm.
