Elsie Glenn, 67 of Poughkeepsie, NY went into eternal rest, with children at her bedside, on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Kingston Hospital after fighting cancer.

Elsie was born in Ruckersville, VA, July 28, 1949 to the late Dennis and Florence Brown. She attended Beacon City schools and was employed at D.C. Boces and Kingston Hospital. She attended various churches, liked to travel and enjoy good times with friends and family. Married twice; to Larry R Johnson in 1970, then to James Glenn Sr. in the 1980's. Elsie loved her children, family and friends and would help when she could. She will be remembered for her inner beauty and generous spirit.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her late husband, James Glenn Sr, 3 brothers; Bernard, Dennis and Harry Brown, grandson Caval G Haylett Jr. and nephew Emmanuel L Brown.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories 7 children; Cathis L. Johnson (Maurice), Elsie M Johnson of Poughkeepsie, NY, Larry R Johnson Jr (Penny), Angela D Johnson (Andre) of Schenectady, NY, Cheria A Douglas (Jamal), Michael A (Ester) Douglas, James Glenn Jr. of Kingston, NY, siblings; Columbus Brown of Poughkeepsie, NY, Rose Campbell of Passaic, NJ, Mary Brown of Albany, NY, Lucy Brown of Schenectady, NY, Steve Brown, Lewis Brown, Lucille Brown, Eleanor Brown, all of Kingston, NY, Clifton, John, Charles and James Brown.

Visitation is Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 10-11am at Joseph. J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc., 39 S.
