Emile Chevalier, 83 of Hyde Park, NY passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on January 4, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert John and Helen Chevalier. A High School Graduate, he went on to attend several trade schools and Law Enforcement Academy where he ended up retiring as the Undersheriff for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office in New York. On June 6, 1975, in Indian Lake, NY he married Linda Bowerman who survives at home. Emile enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing and camping and loved spending time with family and friends. Besides his wife he leaves behind his children; Sara Thorne(Bill) of Forest City, NC, Doreen Chevalier of Las Vegas, NV, Brenda Kuiken(Greg) of Potsdam, NY, Becky Chevalier of Speculator, NY, Scott Chevalier of Speculator, NY and John Chevalier of Hyde Park, NY; his grandchildren Steven Johnson (Cassie) of Forest City, NC, Kayle Thorne of Forest City, NC, Meagan Kuiken and Christopher Kuiken both of Potsdam, NY, Matthew Wentrick of Utica, NY, Cody Labombard and Austin Labombard of Clinton Corners, NY; great grandchild Gracelynn Marie Labombard.
