Evelyn Louise Strother Johnson, 83, of Clinton Corners NY, passed away on August 14, 2021. Evelyn grew up in Millbrook, NY. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by her devoted husband. Evelyn was born July 31, 1938, in Orange Va. in her grandmother Alberta's home to Havana Johnson Strother (pre-deceased) and Rufus A. Strother Sr (pre-deceased). Evelyn graduated from Millbrook High School in 1957. She worked for the Dutchess County Infirmary in Millbrook, NY until retirement. Evelyn also worked for the Bank of Millbrook and Whalen Real Estate offices, Millbrook NY until last year. Evelyn Louise Strother married Charles Robert Johnson January 14, 1967, at the Strother's residence in Millbrook, NY officiated by Rev. Robert Dixon pastor of Central Baptist Church, Salt Point.  Evelyn and Charles have been happily married for 54 years. Evelyn S. Johnson has been a devoted member of Central Baptist Church since her childhood, she dedicated her life to the service of the church as an usher, missionary and most recently Mother. She loved British tv shows and shopping. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Charles, son Mark, daughter Shawnda, stepson Eric, stepdaughter Joann Johnson-Owen, a host of grandchild, great-grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, and nephews whom she loved with all her heart. Evelyn is also survived by her brothers Richard and Phillip Strother, sisters Gloria, Esther, Ruthie, and Marie. Evelyn was pre-deceased by her son Shawn Robert Johnson, her brothers Lawrence (Lonnie), Gilbert (Gil), Herbert (Herbie), Rufus Jr (Junie), John (Johnny) and Clarence.
