Fannie R. Veach, 90, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away at home on July 10, 2016 with her family by her side.   She was born in North East, NY to the late Stewart VanTassell and Annie Proper on June 17, 1926. Fannie graduated high school, on December 1957 in Poughkeepsie she married Joseph E Veach, lasting 56 years of marriage until his passing on July 1, 1995.  Fannie worked for Kings Court Hotel in Poughkeepsie.  She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching game shows on TV and had many friends at Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son; James H. Lawless of North Florida, daughters; Judith Veach and fiancé Slim of Poughkeepsie and Joanne Miller, of Hyde Park, several sisters and brothers; 2 grandsons, and 5 great grand children.

Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her son in law; Dale Miller Sr.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service is Friday July 15, 2016 at 12:30pm at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to DCSPCA, Violet Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY in memory of her and her loving dog buddy.
