Francis Adam VanTassell, 73, a lifelong resident of Pleasant Valley, NY passed away on April 25, 2016 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center. He was born on June 15, 1942 in Poughkeepsie and was the son of the late Anna VanTassell. On November 30, 1963 in Poughkeepsie he married Colleen B. VanTassell for 49 years before predeceasing him on November 24, 2012.

Francis was a proud owner of B.Best Oil, worked for the town of Poughkeepsie, a member of the Italian center, and was in a bowling league at the Hoe Bowl. He loved to play cards, watch baseball and football with the Mets and Giants being his favorite teams.

Francis is survived by his children; Stacey VanTassell and Kelly and Todd Pectle, grandchildren; Ann Marie VanTassell, Jacob Pectle, Anthony, Adam, Ashton, and Austin VanTassell, great grandchild; Emma Rose Hughes, siblings; William and Patrick VanTassell. Besides his wife, Colleen, he was predeceased by a son; Phillip VanTassell, grandson; Phillip Pectle, siblings; Margaret VanTassell, Maryann Hannaburg, and Gary VanTassell.

A memorial service is Wednesday, May 4, 2016, 4PM at the Church of Christ, 112 Montgomery St. Poughkeepsie, NY. A graveside service is Thursday, May 5, 2016, 11AM at St. Peter's Cemetery.
