Gladys Mae Hart fought a good fight before going home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Gladys was very fortunate to pass away at her home with her beloved ones by her side. She was 72 years young.

Gladys Mae Hart was born April 17, 1943 in Edgecombe County, Tarboro NC, to the late Henry and Lessie Hart. Mrs. Gladys began her education in Greenville, NC school system. She moved to Poughkeepsie NY were she met her lifelong companion Ella Ray "Hoover" Cutchin. Mrs. Gladys had long career in domestic work. She worked as a Housekeeper at Eden Park Nursing Home for 30 plus years until she retired in 2013.

Mrs. Gladys was an extraordinary woman, and to know her is to love her. She had no problems expressing herself to anyone. If she had something to say, you will know about because she never bit her tongue about anything. And that is just one of the reasons she was so loved by some many.

Mrs. Gladys is survived by her "Special" daughter Jacqueline Smith of Poughkeepsie NY, two sons; Keith Hart and wife Angela and Kenneth Hart and wife Tina of Winterville, NC, stepdaughters; Alberta Cutchin of Baltimore MD and Brenda Cutchin-Hunter of Rocky Mount, NC "Special Nephew" Tracy Hart of Poughkeepsie NY sisters; Gloria Jean Doe of Ayden NC, Janice Reid and Hattie Crandell of Greenville NC, Wanda Williams and husband Anthony Williams Jr. of Greenville,15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 special god-children Margaret Bryant Getter of Kingston NY, Tamecka Bounds of Raleigh NC, Kanika Ruffin of Brooklyn NY, Saiquan Williams, Niama West and Ashanti Wood Storts all of Poughkeepsie NY and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Gladys is predeceased by a son; Donald Ray Hart, a stepson; Melvin Mitchell, her lifelong companion Ella Ray "Hoover" Cutchin, her sisters; Laura Peterson , Rosa Lee Mitchell Murphy and Beatrice Hart, brothers; Leroy Hart, William Henry Hart, Mack Hart, and Apostle Willie E. Doe.
