Grace M. Shaffer, a resident of Hyde Park, NY., entered into rest on December 6, 2015 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Bell Gibbons.  She was born on May 30, 1922 in Poughkeepsie, NY. On July 2, 1940 she married Charles Shaffer.  Mr. Shaffer Predecease her on March 7, 1991.  In addition to her husband, she had two sons Charles Jr. and Thomas Sr., as well as one grandson, Erich Shaffer who also predeceased her, along with her brothers; Thomas and Albert Gibbons and a sister; Florence Gibbons Kalis.

Mrs. Shaffer loved doing jigsaw puzzles, and going fishing with her husband.  As a girl, she enjoyed roller skating on the side streets of Poughkeepsie.  She also loved long country rides with her husband.  She is survived by her two daughters; Grace M. Plass; Sandra Delcotto and companion Robert W. Heinze Jr., a son Frank Shaffer Sr. and wife Judy and a daughter-in-law Cecelia Shaffer.  She leaves behind 13 Grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
