Helju Roosevelt Stafford, 62 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on December 13, 2015 at home.  Born on July 28, 1953 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Roosevelt Stafford and Mary Alice McClinton Stafford.   He was educated in the Poughkeepsie City School District.  Helju was employed by the Dutton Lumber Company and Poughkeepsie Dye Company until he became disabled in 1985.

Helju attend the United Church of Living God in Poughkeepsie and was one of the lead singers of the Fabulous Gospel Jewels of Poughkeepsie, NY and he was also proud of his distinguished strut.

Survivors include his brother Tercero Stafford; Aunts, Sarah K. Hill, Martha Maria Thompson, Annie Lois McClinton-Berks, two nephews Dyomi and Yasin Stafford and a host of Cousins and friends and especially   his dearest friends Odel and Edith Nimmons.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Dean McClinton, Eldred Stafford, grandparents, Henry and Mary Ann McClinton and his Dog "Chubby"

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2015 from 10am to 11am at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So. Hamilton St. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
