Poughkeepsie – Henry (Hank) Parslow of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on November 30, 2024. He was born November 2, 1942, the son of Joseph and Melissia Parslow, in Hunter, NY. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a medic from 1959-1962. Throughout most of his life, Hank worked as a master carpenter. His skills included framing houses, roofing, and smaller side jobs. He continued to do woodworking into retirement. He also dabbled in genealogy, tracing his family history back to the Revolutionary War. In 1994, he published his family history in a book titled, Who the Heck Are We? A Parslow History/Genealogy.

Henry married Hedwig Mader Kuplins in Leeds, NY, on August 27, 1965. Their long and loving marriage resulted in two children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Hedwig predeceased Henry in March 2021.

Survivors include his two daughters, Melissa Parslow White and her husband Robb, both of Cape Coral, FL, and Faith Yearack and her husband David, both of Poughkeepsie, NY. Henry is also survived by several grandchildren: James Simpson II and his wife Brittnie, Kimberley Simpson Cotton, Patrick Simpson, April Yearack and Erik Yearack, and four great grandchildren. He is  survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Arlene Parslow of Hunter, NY, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his companion, Judy Terns of Poughkeepsie.

The family invites those who would like to honor Hank to meet at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Darrow's Funeral Home, 39 South Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie, to join the procession to the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery at 10:45 AM. A short service will be held at the chapel in the mausoleum.
