Horace "Mike" Hinton, 61 of Newburgh, NY passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born September 13, 1955 to the late Anna Mae Twyman-Johnson and the late Horace E. Hinton.

Mike was a fun and loving family man who had a heart of gold and enjoed lending a helping hand any way he could. He was well known within his community where he often volunteered. He was known for his passion for children. Mike loved to laugh and had no boundaries when it came to making others smile.

He is survived by his daughter Angelique Bugsby, brothers; Ira Hinton of Beacon, NY and Brion R. Hinton (Sandra) of New Paltz, NY, sisters; Connie Turner, Karen Hinton, Doreen Bunn, Ellen Miller (Kevin) all of Poughkeepsie, NY, Regina Watts of Hyde Park, NY and Carol Hinton of New Paltz, NY. Mike also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memory.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brothers; Terry, Horace Jr, Steven and Glen Hinton.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 10-11am at Beth-el Church of God in Christ, 91 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 with a funeral service to follow at 11am. Burial will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. To send online condolences, please visit www.darrowfuneralhome.org
