Irene Ingaborg Algieri, 90 went to meet her Lord & Savior on Tuesday October 2, 2018 peacefully at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Irene was born on November 8,1927 to Guida Albert Marz and Ida Pantke in Breslau, Germany; the middle child of 4. After surviving thru WWII and the Russian invasions she finally fled to West Germany- where in 1957 she met Sgt Sal Algieri of the US ARMY (her ex husband) and came to America with her first born daughter, Carmen Algieri, who pre- deceased her in 1973. Once here she went to school to get her GED and to become a natural citizen. Irene worked hard all her life at many jobs but settled in at IBM in Poughkeepsie where she retired from in 1992
She was a loving, caring & compassionate Mother and Oma; survived by her 3 children and grandchildren: Son: Edward Algieri and her 2 Granddaughters: Brandi & Cortney and first Great Grandson Noah; Son & Daughter n law: Tony & Darleen Algieri and 2 Grandsons: Jesse and Jason; Daughter & Son n law: Jacqueline & Robert Scores and Grandson: SGT Stephen Lemunyon.
Irene first found her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized on October 19, 1986 as a member of Faith Bible Church. Since then she has been a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she has made it her life mission to bless everyone she meets with her beautiful smile and great sense of humor and to teach all those she knows the word of the Lord. She was a very devoted Christian who gave charitably of her time and funds to many organizations from missionaries around the world to children's homes locally. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be Held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:30 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Academy St, Poughkeepsie. Arrangements are entrusted with the Joseph J.
