James Solomon Howard was a caring brother, father uncle, cousin and friend who departed this world on September 10, 2022, in Poughkeepsie New York at the age of 66.  James displayed his courage by facing life challenges with a smile and was strong and valiant to the end.

James was born on November 25, 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late James Solomon Howard and Arena Bell Beeks.   He was the 4th born of 6 siblings. After high school James worked various jobs, he was literally a jack of all trades He enjoyed all sports, music, and dancing. If you were feeling down, he would find a way to make you smile as his laugh was infectious to anyone around him.

He had a host of friends but to Michael Douglas and Rogelio Nonnon he will always and forever be their brother. He was always there to lend a helping hand, an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on.  He was also known to make a good joke or two.

To say that his family and friends will miss him greatly is an understatement. Those who were blessed to know him understood his existence and the imprint he left on our hearts will exceed the years he was with us.

James is survived by one brother Jimmie (Buster) Beeks, one sister-in-law Terea Beeks, one sister Paula Brown, one aunt Joanne Pinkey; 2 sons James Brown, Kevin Howard; one daughter Bettina Howard; three grandchildren Michael Douglas and Rogelio Nonnon; his brothers of the heart and a host of family and friends that will always and forever love him

Per James' wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday September 26, 2022, from 1pm to 2pm at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. (845)452-1840.
