James L. Pittman, Chef, lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, NY peacefully passed away at Mid-Hudson Westchester Regional Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. James was born on October 25, 1969 to James Pittman and Shirley Riley. He attended Poughkeepsie City Schools where he graduated. He pursued his career as a Chef at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, where he graduated.

Survivors include; his sisters, Christina Davis (George), Cheryl Buxton (George) both of Charlotte, NC, Tracie Pittman (GA), and Nicole Pittman (Pok), brothers; Linwood Lyons (NC) and Marco (Harriett) (VA), uncles; Lee, Carl and Robert Riley, and William Oliver of (Pok), Marcellus Riley (FL), George Riley (GA), William, Jesse, and Paul Pittman all of (NC), aunts;  Jean Cross, and Alberta Riley both of (Pok), Janice Hurst (MI), Ladoris and Rezella Pittman of (NC), nieces; Shaquana (NC) and Erica (Pok) Thomas, Shameequa (NC) and Shakera (DC) Buxton, Marshea, Melaysia, and Rickia all of (GA), Jahciasia and Richelle of (Pok), S'rae Paddyfote of (Pok), Justine, Chaltel, and Amia Lyons (NY), nephews; Eric Thomas (NJ), Rahleek Hargrove (Pok), Shaveek, Marquese, and Adonis (VA), and Jahves Cuevas (NC), Linwood Lyons Jr. (NY).  A host of cousins and friends.

James was predeceased  by his mother; Shirley Riley, stepmother; Joyce Pittman, grandparents; Percy Richards, Marion Riley, James and Irene Pittman, aunts; Angela Riley, Nancy Riley, and Ruth Pittman, uncles; Ruiel Roberts, Percy Riley, Raymond Richards, and Charles Riley, cousins; Jerome "Bossman" Cross, George "Riley G", nephew; Markell Pittman. A special thanks to his aunts and uncles; Alberta, Jean, Carl, and Lee for being there when we couldn't.
