t is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Joan Delamater, on December 2nd 2025. Joan, age 93, was a life long resident of Poughkeepsie, and most recently resided at Avalon Assisted Living where she thrived, and enjoyed friendships with both residents and staff.  Born on January 30, 1932, the daughter of Don and Irene Skinion. She is survived by her two daughters and son in law: Linda and John Loucks of Poughkeepsie and Gail(Dusty)Cutrone of LaGrange. She is also survived by grandchildren; Tanya Curry and husband John Curry, Shawn and Nicholas Loucks. Also surviving many great grandchildren and cousins. She was predeceased by a son Jack Lydecker and grandson Eric Loucks. Her family will miss her quirky and feisty attitude along with her sense of humor. She could always make us laugh!  The family would like to thank Avalon and staff for giving her the best care and compassion in the last few years of her life. We would also like to say thank you to Hudson Valley Hospice. You kept her comfortable and made this difficult time easier for us. We are grateful for your support and compassion. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday December 11, 2025 from 1pm to 2pm at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc.  39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
