John A Banks Jr, 77 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Friday February2, 2o24 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.  Born on August 4, 1946, in Alpoca West Virginia, he was the son of John A. Banks Sr. and Medenia Green.  John served as a Military Policeman in the United States Army from 1971-1972, where he received a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.  He worked for Schatz Federal Bearing Co. until its closure and then for IBM retiring in 1987, but most of all he loved being a taxi driver where he enjoyed serving people. John was a family-oriented man.

He is survived by his daughter, Clarissa Whitaker (Kelvin, Whitaker) of Poughkeepsie. His daughter, Tara Cave of Smyrna, Georgia. And his son, Corey Banks of Ohio and his brother Therman Banks of Virginia and sister Dorothea head Poughkeepsie, New York, Elizabeth, head of Colorado, And stepdaughter Octavia Lowe Albany, New York. John has a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents John was predeceased by his siblings Hararis (Ray)Banks, Robert D. Banks Sherman Head, Madeline Robinson, and Nina Head, and both of his wives, Addie Banks and June Lowe-Banks and grandson Corey Banks Jr.
