John Joseph Walsh Sr., 86, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie passed away at Albany Medical Center on Wednesday February 10, 2016.

John was born October 7, 1929 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Robert Walsh and Dorothy Zeleznik. John served in the US Army as a CPL from January 1951—January 1953. On September 5, 1954 John married Ann S. Feldsine at Saint Peter's Church, Poughkeepsie, NY; Ann predeceased John in 2008. John worked for Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation for 40 years retiring in 1993.

John is survived by his children Vera Walsh of Poughkeepsie, Elaine Hodgdon of Hyde Park, Kathleen Zubrycki & her spouse Cliff of Rhinebeck, John J. Walsh Jr. of Hyde Park, Patricia Doolittle & her spouse Roy of Longwood, FL, Patrick Walsh & his spouse Denise of Hyde Park, Christine O'Dell & her spouse Michael of Hyde Park, Gregory Walsh of Hyde Park, and Mary Walsh of Poughkeepsie. John is also survived by his brothers Robert Walsh, Joseph Walsh, Frank Walsh and Vincent Walsh. John is also survived by several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his brother Thomas.
