Johnnie Nathaniel Pope entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.  He was born September 9. 1934 in Edgecombe County NC to the late Louise Pope and Rufus Coffield. Johnnie attended Edgecombe County School District in NC. Johnnie was employed at Sylcox Nursing Home, Newburgh NY for 20 years until he retired in 1995. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine St, Poughkeepsie NY 12601. Pastor Dr. Jesse V. Bottoms Jr.  He loved family and fishing.

Left to cherish his memories are 3 daughters; Vernia Pope Krouser (Joseph) Poughkeepsie NY, Yvonne Guy (Neville Sr.) NYC, NY, Doris S. Jones of Tarboro, NC 2 sons; Johnnie Milton Davis (Charlene) Rocky Mount, NC and Benjamin Bellamy (Chinita) Albany, NY. Thirteen Grandchildren (Special Grand Daughter) Delethia Pope, Tonawanda, NY, Several Great Grands, Godchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and 1 Sister-In-Law Lucille Petteway of Poughkeepsie NY.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Beatrice Pope, Sister Maggie Scott, son Junius Bellamy, and Grandson Gregory Bellamy.

In Granting his wishes there will be no services. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in mausoleum at Community Mausoleum at Pougkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
