Joseph Michael Roberts, a long time resident of Deer Park Long lsland, NY departed this life on Sunday, December 6,2020 at home surrounded by his family at the age of 81 years. Mr. Roberts was born July 21, 1939 in West End, NC to the late Randolph and Louise Kit Marsh Roberts. He attended local schools in West End. ln his later life he relocated to Deer Park Long lsland, NY and was employed in the construction industry for many years. During his time in the Deer Park area he met and married Claresia Manuel and they became a husband and wife union for more than forty years. Mr. Roberts loved listening to and recording music of which he composed several renditions. He had a passion for playing the guitar and mastered the instrument to the extreme. His rendition at his mother's funeral was historical. He spent tireless hours with his band mates and also played the lotto which he thoroughly enjoyed. Mr. Roberts loved family and visited Poughkeepsie on many occasions however, his personal family life was full of spending time in Deer Park with his wife, children and grandchildren. ln addition to his loving and devoted wife Claresia Roberts he is survived by two daughters; Sabrina Roberts Leroy (Ralph Leroy) and Rolonda Roberts, both of Houston, TX; six grandchildren; Shyanne and Sean Leroy, (twins), Sierra and Savannah Leroy (twins), and Bri'ana and Bai'lee Rogers, all of Houston, TX. He is also survived by two sisters; Alice Lee Roberts Smith, Poughkeepsie, NY and Alvina Roberts Jackson of Sanford, FL (twin sister of Deceased brother Alvin); several sisters-in-law; Marcia and Savona V. Roberts, both of Poughkeepsie, NY Margaret Roberts, Washington, DC, Pearlie Taylor (Elmoe), Waynesboro, MS; Sherry Dunn (J. W.), Butler, AL, Mary Lord (Dean) of Farmingdale, NY and Lear and Esther Washington, Chatom, AL. and brother-inJaw, Don Washington, Madison, FL. Other survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Mr. Roberts was predeceased by brothers: Willis, David (surviving spouse Marcia), George Edward, Carl, Jr. (surviving spouse Margaret), Alvin (surviving companion Nancy Riley), and Ulysse; Also; sisters-in-law; Hessie (Willis); Thomasina (Ulysse) and Bernice (George Edward) and brothers-in-law; Ron and Kenneth Washington.
