Joyce L. Braxton, 87 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on June 4, 2021.  She was born on September 30, 1933, to the late Ivory B. Hannah Sr, and Lavinia Bradford.  Joyce was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School.  She was employed at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Hudson River Psychiatric Center and retired after 20 years from IBM in Poughkeepsie.  She was a member of Faith Assembly of God in Poughkeepsie.  Joyce loved word search which kept her mind sharp, Seagram's ginger ale, York peppermint patties, individually wrapped life savers that her son made sure she always had.  Let us not forget those shredded "mini" wheats.  She loved church and singing in church, she had a beautiful voice.  After church she would like to go to red lobster for her salmon dinner and if not there to stop n shop for a rotisserie chicken.  Joyce loved to watch DWTS or "walking with the stars" as she called it.  Queen Latifah was one of her favorite entertainers.  She had a love for dolls and Asian figurines, a deep love for her family and their families. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her son; Darren Braxton Sr. wife Linda, grandchildren; Darren Jr., Derrick, Daiasia, Raysonia, Talesha, and Benisha, great grandchildren; Desean, Davina, Deja, Pierce, Donyae, IKing, Beautiful, Dominique, Shareef, and Darius, special cousins; Karen Graham, Judy Mizell, and Kim Wood, a special thank you to her caregiver; Maggie Cuomo. Joyce was predeceased by her son; Keith Hannah, brothers; Ivory Hannah Jr., and Gerald Hannah.
