IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lillian A.
Buckley
January 16, 1928 – April 5, 2025
At 8:02 PM on January 16, 1928, Lillian joined the family circle as the last child of 7 born to Charles Carl Goebel & Viola Amy Slocum Goebel. It was a home full of busyness and a rollercoaster ride of activities. Learning how to make your voice heard when your three older brothers join the Army - making friends that last a lifetime. Lillian chose to be a housekeeper as a lifelong occupation - doing individual families, the housekeeping department of Holy Trinity School, the Alumni House, Vassar College, & Mill Pond Inn. She started at 14 & continued till 82. Lillian enjoyed the state of Vermont, word searches, making the best bread in town, taking rides to many parts of the state, mostly getting lost going there or coming back, CSI-Miami, country music, a game of rummy, offering advice & never being shy to speak her mind. On April 5, 2025, after 97 years of making her presence known, she again at 6:26PM made the family circle complete once more. Lillian leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Rose Marie Proctor, her granddaughter Stacey M. Plain, her great grandchildren Alexis Rose Plain, Brooke Marie Plain, Adriana Ann & Michael Francis Babb II (& their father Michael F. Babb I) her great grandson Kaiden Quinn Plain/Ng (his dad Ryan Ng), daughter-in-law Birgett O'Meara, her grandson Tim O'Meara & family, many nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephews. Waiting on the other shore were her parents, her husbands, Charles A. O'Meara & Walter C. Buckley, her brothers: Nathaniel (Addie), Oliver (Ann), William (Viola), Albert (Grace), her sisters Violet C. Melius (Bernard) & Elizabeth L. Turner (James), her son Allen J. O'Meara (1-1-1948 - 4-21-2019), her grandson-in-law Aaron M. Plain, her Godson, James A. Schofield, & many nieces & nephews.
There will be graveside services held on Thursday April 10, 2025 at the Clove Cemetery 1876 Clove Road in Lagrangeville NY. Donations to St. Paul's Church - Poughkeepsie, NY By God's grace: May she rest in peace & rise in glory!
