Lizzie Melvin, 80 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on January 11, 2022, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.  Born in Clinton North Carolina on May 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Coley Melvin and Geneva Ingram.  She was employed by Eden Park Nursing Home, retiring after 15 years of service. She was married to James Oscar Herring who predeceased her.  Lizzie enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter Jeanette Herring; granddaughter Shaquanna Milton and spouse Coat; grandsons Jamel Herring and Derrell Herring and spouse Jennifer; great grandson Quandell; great granddaughters Faith, Destiny, Clark, and Aaliyah; great grandson Delquan; special son Derrick and close cousins Nathainel, Dodee and Tena. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Coley Melvin Jr.
