Ms. Lulu Roberta Lawrence at the age of seventy-seven, died on February 25, 2017.  She was a life-long resident of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.  Ms. Lawrence was born on December 30 ^th , 1939, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N. Y.  Ms. Lawrence was the seventh child of twelve-of Chester Gleason Penfield, Sr. and Indiana M. Penfield (both deceased).  She attended Poughkeepsie High School and her favorite sport was track and field.  She worked at the Mid-Hudson Workshop, Inc. in Poughkeepsie N. Y., for 35 years as a laborer-which she enjoyed her job and the company of her co-workers, immensely.  Ms. Lulu R. Lawrence was a Jehovah's Witness for forty-six years.  Ms. Lawrence enjoyed a special spiritual connection with the fellow members of her congregation.

Ms. Lawrence was pre-deceased by four sisters, Ms. Marion Cave (Raford), Mrs. Ruthie Pittman, Ms. Blanche Williams all of Poughkeepsie N. Y., and Mrs. Betty McNair of Newburgh, N. Y., as well as one brother, Edward (Stax) Widgett of Poughkeepsie N. Y.  Ms. Lawrence is survived by six siblings.  Mr. Chester Gleason Penfield, Jr., Mrs. Gladys Stroman, Ms. Laura B. Penfield, Ms. Linda Penfield, all of Poughkeepsie N. Y., Mrs. Genny McNair of New Jersey, and Mrs. Shirley Fox of Ohio.  Ms. Lulu R. Lawrence is survived by two children, Claudette M. Lawrence and Corey K. Lawrence of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.  Ms. Lawrence is also survived by nine grandchildren, Nahshon Harvard, Ryan Lawrence, Rayne McNeil, Savannah Lawrence, Jayden Lawrence and Sanaya Lawrence all of Poughkeepsie N. Y., Todd Johnson of New York City, and Cori Renee Lawrence and Devin Lawrence of Virginia.  Ms. Lawrence also is survived by four great grandchildren, Jazlyn Harvard, Nyaira Harvard, Jaquel Harvard, and Nahshon Harvard, Jr., all of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.  Ms. Lawrence loved all of her grandchildren very much…as well as her entire family.  Ms. Lawrence is survived by a large host of loving nieces' and nephews'.

Ms. Lawrence was cremated on February 28, 2017.  No calling or visiting hours.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 11, 2017 at 3pm,  at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses', on Manchester Circle .  Arrangements are entrusted with Joseph J.
