Marguerite (Mellady) Morello, a native of Poughkeepsie, NY died peacefully March 18, 2015 at the Somers Manor Nursing Home in Somers, Westchester County, NY.  Mrs. Morello, who celebrated her 95 ^th birthday on February 26, was the daughter of prominent Poughkeepsie undertaker John Mellady and Florence (Manning) Mellady.  Her husband, Joseph J. Morello, who predeceased her in 1987, was the son of Joseph Morello, the proprietor of Morello's swimming pool, a popular spa which he opened in the 1930's on the family farm off Creek Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  She was also predeceased by her beloved sister, Eleanor Mellady Kihlmire, of Poughkeepsie. Mr. and Mrs. Morello, both Poughkeepsie natives, moved to Vestal, NY in 1960 when Mr. Morello, a career IBM employee, was transferred.  There they were regular communicants of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal. Mrs. Morello is survived by four sons; Joseph M. (Elaine) of Endwell, NY and Daytona Beach, FL; Stephen J. (Catherine) of Bedford Corners, NY; John C., of Woodstock, NY and Peter B. (Theresa) of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren: Marco (Laura) Morello of Amelia, VA; Michael Morello of Miami, FL; Maura (Dennis)Linkowski of Yorktown Heights, NY; Patrick Morello of Pleasantville, NY; Jack and Anna Morello of Los Angeles, CA, and Sage (Jerry) Peake of Trumansburg, NY.  She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Madeleine G. and Declan J. Linkowski; Cole L. Morello, Arlo and Weston Peake of Trumansburg, NY. Visitation will be held on Monday March 23, 2015 from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So. Hamilton St, Poughkeepsie, NY  12601. (845)452-1840.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie.  Internment will immediately follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie. A Memorial Mass for Mrs. Morello will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal, NY on a date to be determined.
