Marie "Snooks" J. Hayoz left this realm to rejoin with her ancestors after a 2-month battle with heart and lung issues at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, on November 28, 2024, she was 87 years old. Marie was born to Margaret Egnor and Vincent D'Amato on September 27, 1937, in Bronx, New York. To her family she was known as Snooks and to her grandchildren, Nanny.  She was a gentle, compassionate, kind and sassy soul. As a natural caregiver, she often inquired on the wellbeing of those around her and always offered a helping hand.  Beyond her love for family, she was also a devoted animal lover. She had a special place in her heart for cats in particular.  Her hobbies included reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, watching tv, especially the Hallmark Channels. Her favorite shows were mystery crime dramas, Murder She Wrote and the classics like M.A.S.H. and the Andy Griffith show.  Marie is survived by her only child, Jennifer M. Hughes and her husband Russell S. Hughes Sr.  She was a cherished grandmother to: Brandon J. Gibb, Rianna M. Gibb, Haleigh M. Gibb, Russell S. Hughes Jr., Tiarro J. Hughes, Giovania A. Hughes, Isabella M. Hughes, she was also a loving, great grandmother to: Ryder J. Gibb, Benjamin A. Johnson, Addison R. Henning, Ellory S. Gibb, Raelynn M. Johnson.  Marie was predeceased by her great grandson Trevor A.
