Marie E. Turner a long time resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, entered into eternal peace at home, before entering Vassar Brothers Medical Center, on Friday January 1, 2016. She was born April 24, 1933 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Hobart Mallory and Gladys Knox.

Reachie aka Marie aka Ethel aka Mrs. Turner retired from St. Francis Hospital then began a new career as an Aide in the Poughkeepsie City School District only to retire once again! She loved to travel with her husband Ronnie, visit the casinos, Dr. Mario, and played fierce games of cards with family and friends! The men introduced the women to Tonk, Pity Pat, poker and rummy as a good way to pass the time. Her pastimes were spent reading romance books, playing bingo, taking her chances at the lottery and spending time with family. Toward the end Marie's happiness was being surrounded by everything she loved in her home, in her neighborhood with the trees, the birds, the squirrels and many wonderful people!

Marie is survived by her daughter; Gladys L. Boone, her son; Ronald B. Turner Jr., a sister; Geraldine Brown of California. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Marie was predeceased by her late husband(s) Ronald B. Turner Sr. and Marrion J. Boone, her children; Larry Boone, Rose Roundtree, Lois Boone, Barbara Wright, Linda Boone and Albert Boone. Marie was also predeceased by her siblings; Evangeline Boone, Shirley Green, Garrett Mallory and Kenneth Mallory. Marie will be immensely missed by her loving family and friends.

Visitation is Thursday, January 7, 2016 10-11AM, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church 15 Smith St. Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral service is 11AM with Bishop Debra Gause officiating with burial to follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Joseph J.
