Marion Sherlock, 91, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, in Delray Beach, Florida. She was born in Morrisville, New York, on October 14, 1934, to Frank and Mary Sullivan. Marion lived in Poughkeepsie, NY, before moving to Florida with her daughter in 2019. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Doris Williams, and her siblings, Pauline Drow, Anna Roe, Joe Lisnowski, Mike Lisnowski, and Peter Lisnowski. Marion was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lynda Wells, of Delray Beach, FL; her sons, Stephen Sherlock, of Lansdale, PA; Paul Sherlock and his wife, Sharon, of Johnson City, NY; and John Sherlock and his wife, Julie, of Wallkill, NY. She will be dearly missed by her six beloved grandchildren, Christine, Stacy, Jamie, Stacy, Rebecca, and Sarah; and her five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Isabella, Jack, Daniel, and Isaiah. For Marion, animals were never simply pets—they were family. Throughout her life, she opened her home and heart to dogs and cats in need, offering them comfort, care, and a safe place to belong. Her lifelong devotion to animals was a beautiful expression of who Marion was: someone who saw an animal in need and responded with love. Marion will be remembered for her deep love of family, her generous heart, her unique sense of humor, and her extraordinary devotion to animals. The lives she touched—both human and animal—were made better because she was there to care for them. Her family will carry her memory forward with love. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Mary’s Church, 231 Church Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 171 Salt Point Tpke, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538, in memory of Marion and her lifelong love of animals. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Darrow Funeral Home, 39 South Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. To send condolences online please visit our website at www.darrowfuneralhome.org
